• Managing the buying process for technical equipment, components and spare parts and materials for our lab/production in Eindhoven as well as in Leiden, in line with the specified costs and quality
• Translating business objectives into a successful purchasing strategy for parts/equipment
• Handling all technical purchases requests from across the organization.
• Building and maintaining supplier relationships and being responsible for contracts with suppliers while developing a technical supplier portfolio
• Negotiating on contracts, pricing, and terms with suppliers in which you also seek opportunities to make business savings
• Contacting suppliers to resolve any price, quality, delivery related issues
• Monitor market trends, and seek areas of opportunity and reduce costs where possible
• Assessing tenders and quotations from potential suppliers
• Deliver briefings, reports and updates if required
• Signaling changes that may affect the supply and demand of needed equipment and materials
• Keeping spare part safety stock up-to-date
