POWER QUALITY IMPROVEMENT USING SHUNT ACTIVE POWER FILTER
In the project a new control algorithm based on instantaneous power theory (pq theory) for three phase four wire system is taken for a shunt active power filter (SAPF) to compensate harmonic and reactive power, power factor of a three phase non-liner load uncontrolled bridge rectifier. Sensing load current,DC bus voltages and source voltages compute reference current of the SAPF. Driving signals of SAPF are produced by feeding reference and actual reference currents of APF to hysteresis bank current controller. As proposed model contains three phase four wire system, neutral current compensation also taken care by SAPF. MATLAB/SIMULINK power system tool box is used to simulate the project.
