-Safety : Ensure the tasks that the assembly operator is expected to perform are safe, taking into consideration the design of the work cell, facilities, equipment and ergonomics. Ensure all personnel and contractors reporting to you are aware of all safety standards and are meeting them. Actively raise / address any safety issues throughout the site.
-Quality: Put in place systems, procedures and measurables that ensure a quality outcome; (5S, error proofing, First time through, Overall equipment effectiveness, Single point lessons, etc). Use analytical problem solving tools such as PFMEA and Six Sigma to both prevent and resolve issues.
-Cost: Design the operator's workstation to minimize non value added work. Ensure that tooling / facility solutions are cost effective.
-Delivery: Verify that the design of the production system meets target cycle times and any' bottle necks' are identified and addressed. Take responsibility for meeting deliverables at each phase of the project.
-Training: Support the training of operators and key personnel.
-Process: Write process and work instructions for unique plant processes, maintain process deck with regard to usage codes, break dates and part numbers.
-Meetings: Share / support cross functional meetings to resolve design and manufacturing issues.
-Future models: Take into consideration future models when designing the production facilities. Plan the implementation of subsequent models into the facility at increased production volumes.
