• The Central Purchasing Committee (“CPC”) source/recommend qualified raw materials sources/parts to be used in the manufacturing based on sourcing plan and R&D requirement while considering cost limitations. In addition, the CPC considers delivery speed and supplier flexibility in qualifying materials for production. The CPC is an important component for DET to gain market share and enhance its competitive edge. This department’s employees are responsible for establishing and executing a sourcing/procurement strategy, cost analysis, VE related activities and Market Research/Intelligence for cost improvement opportunities to in line with the organization’s growth objectives.
• In addition to the CPC, there are MC (Material Controller) for each factory that report directly to the Material Control Manager. As such, the CPC evaluates the purchasing activities of the procurement departments within the different business units and can provide assistance with vendor qualification, pricing, consolidating purchases, and negotiating terms and conditions with suppliers.
• The Sourcing Engineer will lead efforts in exploring, initiating, developing, and validating opportunities in quality improvements and cost savings and other supply chain related opportunities. The individual in this role will act as the technical interface between suppliers and development/manufacturing engineers to determine new and alternate sources.
• The activity to do with vendor to improve CPC performance such as Yearly RFQ, unit price and tooling price negotiation.
• The activity to do with vendor to improve their performance such as stamping commodity team meeting to visit vendor to see and improve their internal problem. MBR monthly business review. QBR quarterly business review
