Witwood Food Products (Asia) Ltd employs 70 staff in Thailand and has its regional headquarters in Bangkok, which houses sales, marketing and product development facilities.
Witwood produces blended coatings locally, using Thai ingredients to develop innovative product concepts. New product concepts are designed to meet the specific demands of Asian food processors, the majority of whom are supplying customers in the USA and Europe as well as domestic markets, but the firm also supplies a range of added value coatings and ready meal components to global processors, manufacturers and agents.
Witwoods technically trained Thai-based development team uses extensive knowledge of worldwide food trends and works with its UK-based counterparts to develop product concepts that combine an in-depth knowledge of the local market and ingredients with global food knowledge and insight into eating habits and trends. This in turn allows Witwood customers to sell more effectively into international markets.
A new £½m, 20,000 sq ft manufacturing plant in Pinthong opened recently to enhance the facilities in Bangkok. Housing a manufacturing plant, three blenders and separate allergen plant, the new facility has achieved the BRC standard and is audited to the same quality standards as its UK counterpart, enabling Witwood to deliver premium quality products.
Expansion into Vietnam and China supported by the Regional Office in Thailand sees continued growth within the Asian region.
The Witwood product range includes predusts, batters, breadcrumb coatings, breaders, marinades, rubs and glazes; wet marinades and sauces and frozen pellets for kievs and toppings for customers across the world.
